Deep within the Melbourne underground rock scene, on a floor covered in spilt beer, piss and blood, we find the Forklift Assassins. A three-piece who manage to tour harder than a solo act but sound bigger than their parts.

New single Wake Up (Rapid Eye Movement) is an instant earworm. A blend of the garage-familiarity of bands like Cosmic Psychos with just a pinch of metal guitar and a slathering of pumping drums, propelling this infectious monster to its three minute deadline. 

Perfectly cynical and lyrically reminiscent of Devo’s Beautiful World or The Dead Kennedys Kill The Poor. Wake Up (Rapid Eye Movement) won’t just merely remind you of these aforementioned punk heavyweights, it literally…literarily borrows a familiar phrase from another huge band and song – themselves a political force.
