Decide on the song you want to record, tune your instruments, practice and arrive ready to make hits… the rest is on us.
Suitable for ages 16-25.
Producer + 2 x ARIA winner, Ian Pritchett and Singer/Songwriter + 3 x Aria Nominee Matt Downey will produce, engineer and assist you while you commit your genius to tape.
Both guys are lifelong industry professionals and beyond their respective accolades, each have recorded charting releases, performed, toured and managed both their individual paths and the paths of other successful bands and artists.
While Ian concentrates on developing your sound and recording at his Noisegate Studios, Matt will discuss techniques, performance and production, while Karli Sample will discuss promotion, design your cover art and ensure you’re comfortable while you produce your debut release.
A crash course in all aspects of the recording process:
- Scheduling
- Considerations of material
- Historical context
- The role of the producer
- Instrument selection
- Instrument effects
- Techniques for best performance as a recording musician
- Artwork design and considerations for promotion
This unique experience is designed to offer guidance and mentorship, complete with a wealth of lived experience in the recording and live music sectors.
At the end of the session, you’ll leave with a CD of efforts, artwork and all.
