Most bios featuring members that can be best associated with other…more established bands, start with a phrase like “From the Ashes Of…”
This isn’t the case for Q+TB or q+tb depending on mood or access to capital letters it would seem.
Matt Downey (Cousin Betty, LITTER and Death Mattel) and Holly Garcia (Acid Amora, Tap Hammer and Trillion) are the genesis of something collaborative and difficult to pigeon hole.
Inspired more by the “shuffle” option on a playlist than the schizophrenia of say…a Mr Bungle or A System Of A Down, this duo arrive at a junction of disparate interests and motivations.
Matt is the old dog reared on 60’s and 70’s radio via the new romance of a synth-driven-post-punk 80’s. Holly was raised on the teat of skull crushing metal…in all its many derivations.
They are the conflation of age and youth, of male and female, of heavy and soft, light and dark.
As stated, they regard themselves as a genesis and will routinely defer to the people they feel best capable of recording and reproducing their song ides. This ultimately means that their live shows will always be as impressive as their recordings.
